MY DESIGN PROCESS
It starts with empathy. To identify the problem,
I do my best to listen and understand who is voicing the concern.
empathy
Once I grasp how someone feels, I tune into my inner Sherlock and investigate.
investigate
ideate
test
develope
Then, when I have identified an end goal, I ideate, and once Iβve come up with an idea,
I develop a prototype and test it.
Based on feedback from those tests,
a design can either be implemented or go back a few steps and repeat.
implement
double-tap
Donβt forget to double-tap aka gather feedback after the design has been implemented!
Iβve had the privilege of collaborating with brilliant people within amazing companies in my 10+ years of designing π
MY JOURNEY
πΈ β¨ 100% REMOTE
I am currently working at a private company as a UX Engineer.
FurstPerson was bought by Outmatch and I became a lead designer. Outmatch is also a SaaS System that includes assessments, video interviewing, and reference checking. I redesigned the 3 separate SaaS systems so that they look unified. I did this by collaborating with the different development structures for the 3 different systems, creating an organized design-development process, a well-defined style guide and pattern library, and leading a team of 3 designers in 3 different time zones around the world, strategically.

"Holy smokes! Ashley has been willing to work across time zones to be the glue that holds our design team together. She's empowering the designers to take on the challenge of applying the design standard to very challenging and complex screens, and reinforcing the strategy cohesive look and feel. It's amazing to see her in action - go, Ashley, go!

FurstPerson is a SaaS that constructs assessments and reports for clients. I work closely with their IO Psychologists, Leadership, Q&A, Marketing, Development, and Support. I redesigned the look and feel of their assessments and their platform. I created and maintained a design system manager, assessments, an interactive application, application creation process, and created an organised development process that included multiple teams with the focus of transitioning from the legacy platform to a new.
βAshley has been an incredible addition to the FurstPerson team. I have enjoyed collaborating with her so much, and her design and interaction skills have elevated the FurstPerson products. Ashley is an incredibly smart, thoughtful designer who takes ownership and keeps projects on track. She is incredibly organized and helps her colleagues become more organized as well. Most importantly, she is a champion for the end userβs needs and makes sure the most elegant and friendly interactions are created.β

BizLibrary is a SaaS LMS (Learning Management System). I worked remotely with their CEO, Product Team, Support Team, and Developers using SCRUM and Agile methods. I have conducted interviews with clients, and designed products, features, surveys, style guides, and a pattern library. I presented βThe Design Processβ to 300+ clients at Align (BizLibraryβs annual training conference). The products that I have created have increased our clientele, the overall usage of the LMS, and tier upgrades.
βAshley not only has amazing design instincts, but she is adept at choosing UX strategies to validate decisions and gain empathy. The interfaces she creates are always well-considered for the constraints provided. She is incredibly adaptable and a wonderful teammate. I have enjoyed watching her blossom into a strong design leader.β

βAshley and I have worked together remotely, and in person on our Learning Management System (LMS) platform for over 3 years. As our UI/UX designer during that time, Ashley was responsible for creating and improving our Learning Management Platform user experience. She has worked on everything from designing new, big features, to implementing small enhancements, to designing our overall theme. She was the catalyst that kept our LMS appealing and user friendly.
Ashley not only consistently exceeded expectations with her designs, but she also took on other tasks with enthusiasm. A good example of this is her performance during our annual 3-day client conference. Ashley developed several designs for future projects, met with numerous clients to gather testing data, and also presented to over 200 people. While this conference can be stressful for certain individuals, Ashley took every task in stride and with a smile on her face.
Ashley is also extremely diligent in time management. Working remotely, she always follows project deadlines and adjusts her hours based on when her co-workers need her. She is very friendly and builds rapport with her teammates well.
In summary, I highly recommend Ashley for any position. Her excellent work and upbeat attitude make her an asset to any company.β

I worked closely with their CEO, Q&A, and Support and was immersed in their Development Team. I maintained the style guide and pattern library and solved complex issues. We practised SCRUM methods and I lead their Retro meetings, often incorporating fun, interactive activities and providing sweet homemade bakes.

First Community Credit Union is the official credit union of the Houston Texans. I started as a teller, applied for a marketing assistant position, and was later offered a position as a Webmaster. I worked within their marketing department. I made daily updates to multiple platforms (web, mobile and social media) which resulted in 200% increased customer engagement. I designed monthly campaigns, banner ads, how-to guides, and planned and hosted public events for up to 100 people. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with uGenius, designing a personal teller machine interface.
